The majority of Japanese consumers were hesitant to eat plant-based meat alternatives. As revealed in a survey conducted in August 2024, the largest share of respondents, over 40 percent, stated that they rather do not want to try plant-based meats such as soy meat. Another 21.8 percent clearly stated not wanting to eat meat alternatives.
