In the second half of 2024, businesses in non-store retail received the highest number of consumer complaints and bad reviews posted online on average in Japan. While almost eight complaints posted on SNS and other online channels were directed at a non-store retailer engaged in mail-order retail, a business operating in the laundry, hairdresser, beauty services or bath house markets received only 3.21 negative evaluations on average during the first half of the year.
