For the purpose of this statistic, the average daily number of visitors has been calculated by dividing the Louvre's annual attendance by the number of opening days.
The number of opening days was set at a constant figure of 310 days (and 311 days for leap years) based on the usual number of opening days indicated in the museum's press releases for 2020 and 2021. As indicated by these press releases, the Louvre was open for 161 days in 2020 and 194 days in 2021 due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, so these figures have been used in those specific cases.
