Between 2021 and 2022, wage growth decreased due to high inflation rates and the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2024, wage growth slighly increased in the advanced countries by 0.9 percent, but increased by 5.9 in the emerging, leading to a G20 average increase by 3.1.
