More than 6.8 million refugees from Ukraine were recorded worldwide as of January 16, 2025. Of them, 6.3 million, or approximately 92 percent, resided in Europe. Among European countries, Russia, Germany, and Poland took in the highest number of Ukrainian refugees.

Figures, including disaggregation by country, include refugees from Ukraine who were granted refugee status, temporary asylum status, temporary protection, or statuses through similar national protection schemes, as well as those recorded in the country under other forms of stay (from 24 February 2022), as relevant/applicable. The figures were compiled by UNHCR from statistics by national authorities."
