Global carbon dioxide removal deliveries 2020-2025, by month

Global carbon dioxide removal (CDR) deliveries have experienced significant growth in recent years, rising from just 260 metric tons in January 2020 to approximately 580,000 metric tons as of February 2024. This accounted for around four percent of total CDR sales. According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, CDR will be necessary for the world to achieve its climate targets.
