The coronavirus epidemic caused a dramatic decline in Eurowings annual revenue from 4.1 billion to 598 million euros between 2019 and 2020. The annual revenue began to increase in the following years, but was still lower than pre-pandemic figures.
Eurowings is a point-to-point, low-cost airline, headquartered in Düsseldorf. Eurowings is a subsidiary of the Lufthansa Group and has wet-leased aircraft from Air Berlin and Brussels Airlines. The point-to-point airline part of the Lufthansa Group commenced flight operations in 2015. Today, Eurowings operates domestic European flights as well as long-haul flights. The home markets of the airline are Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Belgium.
