According to a study from 2023, the highest amount spent by UK consumers for recorded music was for subscriptions. That year, UK consumers spent a total of over 2.2 billion British pounds of which 1.87 billion were devoted to subscriptions. At the same time, people spent less money on physical formats and downloads compared to the previous year.
