In 2024, Ireland was the leading exporter of plastic waste to the United Kingdom, with shipments amounting to nearly 49 thousand metric tons. The Netherlands ranked second, with 19.8 thousand tons. The country was also the second-leading destination for UK plastic waste exports that year.
