A global survey conducted in 2022 found that the Philippines, Japan, and China were the countries with the highest levels of trust in the press. A total of 71 percent of surveyed Filipinos stated that they had a great deal or quite a lot of confidence in the press, while the share was at 70 percent in Japan and 68 percent in China. By contrast, Greece, the United Kingdom and Egypt had the lowest trust in the press at under 15 percent in each country respectively.
