Between 2008 and 2015 in the EU/EEA countries, the reported cases of malaria had a steady growth, reaching its peak in 2015, with a total of roughly seven thousand cases. In 2020, a drastic drop was reported, followed by an increase in the following years. In 2023, the number of reported malaria cases in those countries totaled over seven thousand cases.
