The value of investments varied greatly across industries, with the banking sector accounting for the largest value of all investments. The banking sector's spending on AI and gen AI was approximately 7.24 billion U.S. dollars. It was followed by the retail sector, with a spending value of 4.83 billion U.S. dollars. Banking was also the leading industry in terms of spending on a global scale in 2023.
