In the 2023/24 season, amateur male rugby union players in Ireland suffered from concussions at an incidence rate of 4.4 per 1,000 hours of playtime. While concussions remained the most common match injury that season, the 2023/24 incidence rate marked a significant decrease from the previous three seasons, and was the first time the figure fell since the 2018/19 season.
