Automotive suppliers in more technology-focused domains, namely software and semiconductors, have had significantly higher earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) margins than traditional suppliers in the last few years. In 2022, automotive software suppliers recorded an EBIT margin of 34.2 percent, while traditional suppliers had a margin of about 4.6 percent.
