According to a survey conducted in 2023, 50 percent of public K-12 teachers in the United States believed that students should not learn about gender identity at school. In comparison, 33 percent of K-12 teachers said that students should learn in school that whether someone is a boy or a girl can be different from the sex they were assigned at birth while 14 percent shared the belief that students should be taught that whether someone is a boy or a girl is determined by the sex they were assigned at birth.
