Switzerland's gold exports accounted for nearly one-quarter of the total global gold export value in 2022, making it by far the leading exporting country. In second place was the United Kingdom, accounting for almost 17 percent of gold exports based on value that year.

In 2022, Switzerland's gold exports had a value of over 100 billion U.S. dollars. Switzerland was also the world's leading gold importing country that year, as Switzerland is one of the world's leading gold refining countries.
