In Milan, the number of marriages has decreased by 193 ceremonies from 2018 and 2023. The greatest decrease was recorded between 2019 and 2020, when only 1,500 weddings were celebrated due to the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, compared to almost 3,000 recorded the previous year. Since 2021, the number has started to grow, settling at 2,700 marriages in 2023, 194 fewer than the figures recorded during the pre-pandemic period.
