The number of station-based car-sharing vehicles available in sharing schemes in Italy has grown every year since 2015, except 2021 and 2023. As of 2023, there were nearly 1,239 car-sharing vehicles in circulation in Italy.
In station-based car-sharing schemes, hired vehicles have to be returned to the station from which they were picked up or dropped off at another designated hire station.
