A global game developer survey in 2024 found that 41 percent of respondents used AI tools in game development for automated play testing, up from 36 percent of responding game devs in the previous year. Writing or improving code saw the biggest increase in AI tool usage, while writing and narrative design had the biggest drop in AI tool usage when compared to the previous year.
