Get in touch with us nowIn 2023, 21,706 crimes were reported by police forces to the judicial authorities in Venice, of which around 60 percent constituted by thefts. In particular, pickpocketing currently constitutes the major problem for the city, as in 2023 almost 6,000 cases were reported, more than any other single felony, probably given the enormous number of tourists that every year visit the Venetian lagoon. Swindles represented another nine percent of the total reported crimes and the second most frequent felony, followed by damages.
