Almost four in 10 U.S. voters support a TikTok ban in the United States. While this figure appears higher among Republican voters, reaching 48 percent of respondents that identify within the party, support was strong also for Democrats. On April 24, 2024,U.S. President Joe Biden signed a bill that mandates for TikTok to be sold from the Chinese-parent company ByteDance or face a ban in the country. Independent voters were more likely to oppose, or even strongly oppose the measure, but their numbers remained contained to interest less than two in 10 U.S. voters.
