In Portugal, the value of mergers and acquisitions' (M&A) transactions mostly decreased during the observed period. In 2018, M&A deals were valued at 37.4 billion euros, decreasing to almost 4.4 billion euros in 2024. In March 2025, the actual value of M&A in Portugal was 276.2 million euros, but 1.1 billion euros was the forecast for the entire year.
