China has been the leading export destination of fossil fuels from Russia since January 1, 2023. Since that date, Russia has exported fossil fuels, such as oil, natural gas, and coal, worth around 163.1 billion euros to China as of January 22, 2025. The 27 member states of the European Union (EU) together represented the fourth-leading export region.
