In 2023, the total number of the workers employed in the Israeli high-tech industry reached almost 400,000. Technology companies in the country added just over 10,000 workers that year. This accounts for an over 70 percent drop in new hiring compared to 2022. Growth in high-tech employment in 2023 was impacted by the politically controversial government judicial reform and the outbreak of war in Gaza, among other global factors.
