In the fiscal year 2023, around 46.7 million persons in Japan were covered by the public Employees' Pension insurance system. The Employees' Pension insurance is an income-related pension plan for employees of private companies and public servants. The Japanese public pension system consists of two pillars, namely the National Pension and the Employees' Pension Insurance.
