In 2023, the share of Palestinian employees working in the Israeli agricultural sector fell to 13 percent. Two years prior, this figure reached almost 20 percent. Between 2016 and 2022 the share of agricultural workers coming from the West Bank and Gaza generally remained stable. Following the start of the Israel-Hamas war on October 7, 2023, the Israeli government sharply reduced the number of Palestinians permitted to work in Israel.
