Nearly 41 percent of this went into the making of wheelhouse liners. In 2023, the American automotive manufacturer had a zero waste performance of 94.6 percent, which is above GM's 2025 goal of achieving a 90 percent zero waste performance.

The Zero Waste performance measures the percentage of waste diverted from landfills, incinerators, and energy recovery facilities compared to GM's baseline and is in alignment with the Zero Waste International Alliance’s (ZWIA) benchmark of diversion threshold.
