As of July 1st, 2024, around 2.62 billion euros had been provided by the German federal government for the development of the country's electric vehicle charging network. Most of this funding came from the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure, which invested nearly 2.5 billion euros in these charging expansion projects.
