In the third quarter of 2024, the total number of agricultural workers in Israel was 69,000. This represented a decrease of about six percent in the sector's workforce from the previous quarter. Between the third and fourth quarters of 2023, the industry experienced a sharp decline of over 22 percent in workers. Following the start of the Israel-Hamas war in October 2023, many foreign workers left the country, leading to labor shortages.
