Distribution of fish sales in Germany 2023, by place of purchase

In 2023, approximately 49 percent of all fish purchases were made at discount retailers, with nearly 60 percent of tinned fish bought from these stores. Only around 4 percent of total fish sales occurred at specialty shops, although 11 percent of fresh fish purchases were made there.
