Rents paid for housing in Iceland have increased year-on-year between 2011 and 2023. Nevertheless, the inflation-adjusted change was negative between 2021 and 2023, suggesting that rents grew at a slower rate than inflation. In 2023, the nominal growth in rents amounted to **** percent, while the real change (adjusted for inflation) was recorded at a negative *** percent.
