As of April 2024, the top reason to use generative artificial intelligence (AI) among both teenage girls and boys was to get help with homework. Around 55 percent of U.S. teen girls reported to use AI for this purpose. Teenage boys also followed closely, with half of them getting help for school assignments from AI tools.
