As of November 6, Republicans had secured 51 seats in the United States Senate during the 2024 election, reaching the minimum number required to take control of the Senate. In the subsequent week, Republicans went on to secure an additional three seats.
In order to achieve the Senate majority, Republicans successfully flipped seats in Ohio and West Virginia. Independents, who typically caucus with the Democrats, won two seats.
