In July 2022, the average value of payment for rent made via a mobile payment app in Israel was 2,948 Israeli shekels, about 810 U.S. dollars. This represented the highest average payment by purpose category in a survey carried out by the Bank of Israel. It was followed by furniture, electronics, and clothing purchases, which averaged at 656 Israeli shekels, some 180 U.S. dollars. Interestingly, excluding rent payments, which are significantly higher than other transactions, the five highest value payment categories were linked to business transactions or services, rather than person-to-person (P2P) payments.
