Preliminary findings on the total volume of groundwater abstraction in the Gulf Cooperation Council measured total abstraction in 2022 at 20.9 billion cubic meters. This was 2.5 billion cubic meters more than in 2020, but still an overall decline of 0.9 percent since 2010.
