A 2023 survey conducted by Statista Consumer Insights found that approximately 42 percent of Chinese consumers were unwilling to purchase secondhand items that had been used by someone else. In contrast, about 19 percent of respondents expressed a willingness to buy pre-owned items for sustainability reasons.
