In 2023, the total value of capital held in Israel's sovereign wealth fund reached nearly 1.5 billion U.S. dollars. This marked an increase of over 870 million U.S. dollars from the previous year. The fund began its operations in mid-2022, following the implementation of a windfall tax due to an increase in the profitability of companies producing natural gas.
