South Africa had the highest inequality in income distribution in Southern Africa according to lastest data as of 2022, with a Gini score of 63. Its neighbor Namibia followed, with 59.1. The Gini coefficient measures the deviation of the distribution of income (or consumption) among individuals or households within a country from a perfectly equal distribution. A value of 0 represents absolute equality, a value of 100 absolute inequalities.
