An annual survey conducted between 2021 and 2024 looked at the main reasons why people in the United States did not plan to travel in the winter holiday season. In 2024, 39 percent of respondents said they could not afford it, making it the main reason for not traveling. Meanwhile, 31 percent of the sample mentioned that travel was too expensive at that time.
