In a 2024 survey, 47 percent of men surveyed in the United Arab Emirates said that they lost weight during the month of Ramadan. This was two percent higher than the country average. The highest share of respondents who said they lost weight during Ramadan were aged between 25 and 44 years old, also at 47 percent. In the same survey, 73 percent of respondents said they saw Ramadan as an opportunity to reset their bodies, and a similar share said they tended to eat more home-cooked meals during the month.
