Global electricity demand increased to 29 thousand terawatt-hours during 2024, with the Asia Pacific region reporting the largest share of demand that same year. Demand is forecast to increase to over 32.5 thousand terawatt-hours in 2027 with the largest increase coming from the Asia Pacific region and Africa.
