According to a 2025 forecast, the rollback of U.S. federal tax credits could result in a net total of 76 gigawatts of clean energy capacity not being deployed by 2030. In the short-term, the area serviced by the PJM ISO would suffer the most from such deployment losses. In the long-term, the MISO Midwest region was expected to see the greatest reduction in potential energy generating capacity, largely tied to utility-scale solar PV projects.
