According to a 2024 survey, nearly 60 percent of Chinese consumers preferred to use traditional e-commerce platforms such as Taobao and JD.com to conduct online purchases. Short-video platforms, such as Douyin and Kuaishou, ranked second with about 42 percent of respondents using them.
