Lack of knowledge about whether a product is low-carbon was the main obstacle hindering consumers' low-carbon purchases, according to a 2024 survey among Chinese respondents. Meanwhile, nearly 40 percent of respondents said they wouldn't buy low-carbon products because they were overpriced.

Reasons not to purchase low-carbon products in China in 2024
More than 97 percent of respondents are under 50 years old, demonstrating a predominantly younger demographic. Furthermore, approximately 89 percent possess a Bachelor's degree or higher, indicating a well-educated group.
