As of the third quarter of 2024, 56.5 percent of surveyed internet users in China indicated that keeping in touch with acquaintances was the primary reason for using the internet. 52 percent of respondents picked video streaming as the key purpose, while over 45 percent selected finding information and updates on news and events.
