In 2023, the supervisory data privacy authority of Ireland, the Data Protection Commission (DPC), received 1,014 complaints regarding access request. This is one of the most frequently occurring issues in GDPR compliance and made up 39 percent of all complaints received by the organization. Furthermore, 374 complaints were received regarding the right to erasure. The DPC is the primary regulator for many multinational tech companies headquartered in Ireland.
