In 2022, countries in Sub-Saharan Africa received the most official development assistance (ODA) for water supply and sanitation with roughly 2.5 billion U.S. dollars. Additionally, the group of least developed countries in the world, of which most are located in Sub-Saharan Africa, received assistance for more than 2.8 billion U.S. dollars.
ODA commitments are flows of official financing administered with the main objective of promoting developing countries' economic development and welfare.
