In 2023, the most popular fuel type of used car sold was petrol in India. Close to two-thirds of used cars sold were petrol vehicles. And it was followed distantly by used diesel cars, at around 30 percent. One of the reasons for the popularity of petrol cars was due to the increasing diesel prices in India.
