As of the first quarter of 2024, Nigeria held around 21.4 metric tons in gold reserves. This was relatively stable throughout the period observed, except a slight spikes in the fourth quarter of 2020 and the first quarter of 2021. The country is sixth in Africa in terms of gold holdings.
