Share of leading companies with net-zero commitments in the U.S. 2024, by sector

Less than half of the leading companies in the United States had any net-zero commitment as of April 2024. The utilities sector had the highest share of firms that had commitment to net-zero, at 81 percent. On the other side of the spectrum, only one-quarter of companies in the materials sector had such targets.
